The Empowerment Challenge is a Geelong-based not-for-profit supporting younger mums who had their first child at 26 or younger who are pregnant or parenting. They offer friendly group connection, 1:1 support, and practical pathways.
The Benefit Geelong grant funds will be used to purchase IT equipment to fit out a study and employment room within their hub for younger mums to access support to explore employment opportunities and complete online study.
A dedicated study and employment room will give The Empowerment Challenge mums an opportunity to explore both education and work opportunities with free, 5 day a week access to equipment, supportive staff, online access and support whilst their children are supervised.
Parent Pathways mentors will also be on site to support young mums to plan and work towards personal, study and work goals.
