Lazarus Community Centre offers a sanctuary for those facing homelessness or isolation in the heart of Geelong.

They offer meals, laundry services, a friendly ear to chat and much more to members of the Geelong community.

Using the $10,000 Benefit Geelong grant, Lazarus will install a professional, high‑quality security camera system across both internal and external areas of the Centre.

The system will include:
– High‑resolution cameras covering entrances, exits, communal spaces, and external perimeters
– Night‑vision capability
– Secure video storage and remote monitoring
– Appropriate signage for transparency and deterrence
– Installation by a licensed security technician

The system will operate during all opening hours and after hours to protect the premises and ensure continuous coverage. It will significantly increase safety, deter unsafe behaviour, support appropriate incident management, and provide peace of mind to all who access our services.

We hope this will also allow Lazarus to focus on what they do best, which is helping our community and less time responding to incidents of anti-social behaviour and/or damage.
